Preparation

The facilitator leads the group through the protocol, reading and then carrying out each point, one after the other.

Process

  • The group stands in a circle.

  • The facilitator pinches her hands together like duck beaks (the thumb joins the other fingers like pincers), with her fingers pointing toward herself, while saying “Rabbit-Rabbit”.

  • The facilitator repeats the same movement, launching the gesture and saying "Rabbit-Rabbit", with her hands now pointing towards a person in the group.

  • The person who receives the “Rabbit-Rabbit” then does the same thing. They say “Rabbit Rabbit” with their fingers in duck beaks toward themselves, then throw the rabbit rabbit to someone in the circle, who will pass it on in turn, and so on.

  • At first, the group gets used to the gestures and the rhythm of the exchanges. They can choose to slow down or speed up.

  • Then, add the carrots: the two people next to the person saying the "Rabbit-Rabbit" to themselves, say "Carrot-Carrot” at the same time, while performing the following movement: clenched fists—open fists as if mimicking car headlights turning on. This movement is directed towards the person receiving the "Rabbit-Rabbit".

  • Continue the game in the same mode: one person sends the "Rabbit-Rabbit," the recipient first directs the "Rabbit-Rabbit" towards themselves while their neighbours say "Carrot-Carrot" with the movement directed to the central person, then the "Rabbit-Rabbit" is sent to someone else, and so on.

  • Get used to the gestures and rhythm of the rabbits and their carrots for a while.

  • Speed up. Play with the rhythm.

  • Stop when the rhythm and technique are well mastered and/or when the group shows signs of boredom..

Notes

It’s a game with no stakes, delightfully silly, simply meant to change the mood and bring joy.
